Re: Colonoscopy
This is a coincidence as I've just had a colonoscopy to remove a few polyps on Friday, which to be frank, did not go to well.
First of all 7 hours preperation with that Moviprep is fucking ghastly enough. But I'll say one thing, it works

The nurse I spoke to persuaded me that gas and air would be sufficient for any pain relief.
The trouble was that the futher up the probe went the more pain I was enduring and to make matters worse I was hearing the Endoscopist saying things like "that's weird, why's it doing that?" Then a nurse had to apply her weight to my stomach so that they could get the probe moving.
This had gone on for about 45 minutes when they called it off without having removed a single polyp
All in all it was a painful and unpleasant experience.
At the end the Endoscopist apologised for the pain and said that if he'd have known it was going to be so tricky he would have had me sedated.
In his written report he described the procedure as "challenging". Nice understatement.
So now have to go back to go through it again.

Anyway, from my experience, if you're having a colonoscopy, get sedated.

Good luck Ted.

Re: Colonoscopy
Had both ends at once about a month ago.
I was given Moviprep before hand and it took a long time to work but when it did boy was it a wild one.

They knocked me out for the procedure and to be honest when I came through I felt great just hungry from not eating for 36 hours.

All in all a perfectly fine experience. I just hope they didn't use the same camera for both ends.

Re: Colonoscopy
Have it done without anesthetic ,it s uncomfortable and you can't stop farting, but you can look on the screen to see what's happening and ask what's going on....it just feels like someone's pumping air up your arse...spurs fans swear by it.
